Memobottle: Flat Is The New Round

The memobottle™; a flat, premium and reusable drink bottle designed to fit in a bag, has captured the world’s attention through practical, convenient design while carrying a strong message of the importance of a sustainable future.

It combines minimalist, sustainable design with everyday functionality.

The idea of memobottle™ was born on a coastal community just south of Melbourne, Australia; by creators Jesse Leeworthy and Jonathan Byrt.

Both focused on creative design providing environmental remedy while improving social convenience, they became inspired to design a bottle that could effectively lure consumers away from single-use bottles.

The memobottle™ comes in four sizes, A5 and A6, which resemble the international paper sizes by the same name, the A7, which holds 180ml (6 oz) and is perfect for clutches, pockets and kids; and the tall, elegant and considered slim memobottle™, holding 450ml (15 oz) and creating a perfect t in the hand.

Every size memobottles™ come with a sleek stainless steel lid.

Copper and matte black lids are also available in the new range.

The set also includes high-quality, genuine leather sleeves for the entire memobottle™ range (in partnership with Kinnon), and premium copper desk stands, acting as podiums to show off your memobottle™.

The inspiration stemmed from two problems that the co-founders saw in society.

Firstly, given their attachment to the outdoors and environment, the duo developed a passionate desire to reduce single-use bottle consumption and its disastrous effect on the environment.

Secondly, throughout their schooling, university, and professional work lives, they experienced constant frustrations with the inability to fit round water bottles in carry/laptop bags.

Rather than making a product that conforms to the status, they decided to create something easy to transport but still holds the functional aspects of traditional bottles.

The memobottle™ has struck a chord and is already sold in over 150 retail outlets globally and is shipped to well over 70 countries each month.

The memobottle™ took centre stage at the 88th Oscar Awards in Hollywood as a special inclusion in the gift bags given exclusively to the official nominees of the awards.

Using a global stage like the Oscars allowed The memobottle™ team to have their message of sustainability resonate around the world.

Sustainability and life convenience don’t need to be mutually exclusive.

480 billion single-use bottles were consumed in 2016, despite 91% of the world’s population having access to clean drinking water. The founders at memobottle™ are committed to changing this in a big way!

The mission of memobottle™ is to play a vital role in helping to halve the current single-use water bottle consumption by 2020.”

1% of Kickstarter takings will be donated by memobottle™ to water.org, providing clean drinking water to those around the planet in need.

The memobottle™ founders knew the idea and the innovative design had the potential to change the way people viewed bottled water consumption.

The idea for a premium, re-usable, at water bottle resembling the shape of a piece of paper was born. The creators ttingly named it the “memobottle”.

They wanted had to offer something that was truly convenient, beautiful and sustainable in design, making people think, and encouraging to ask questions.

They also founded intriguing as to why all bottles were round.

Bottles hadn’t changed shape in decades yet tablets, laptops and computer bags were all at in their design. Round bottles just didn’t t with our modern lives. So, they decided to ip the equation.

The memobottle™ is designed to fit where other bottles can’t. Flat is the new round.

It seems to be working.
